Exclamation Turn Your Clock Back and Change Batteries in Smoke Detectors

Tonight you "fall back" with the clocks. Daylight Savings is over and we return to Standart Time.

More importantly, change the batteries on your smoke detectors. This very simple task can save lives.

Thanks for reminding us to "Fall back"!

America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004

Already did the smoke detectors, DH did them this afternoon. We have those hardwired detectors and they chirp for about 10 minutes after you change the battery while some thing resets. Sounded like an army of birds invaded my house.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Don't have to worry about the smoke detectors though. When we rebuilt the house after the canes in 04' we installed the kind that are hard wired and connected to all go off if one does.

Yup, it's time to do it again. Plus Saturday is "Wake Up Delaware" again. Stop by any Delaware fire station between 9AM and 3PM if you need a new smoke detector or batteries. If your smoke detectors are more than 10 years old it time for new ones.

I never knew we needed to replace the detectors every 10 years. Thanks for that information.

Re: Turn Your Clock Back and Change Batteries in Smoke Detectors

I could have someone explain this to me until they are blue in the face, I will never be able to figure out when we get sleep and lose sleep. Here I am thinking we LOSE the hour this weekend when we gain the hour.

    I'm such a dork...

I'm totally with you on that one. I hate losing an hour in the spring. Messes me up every year! And I hate that fall back means that it gets dark so darn early!!

You can get an early start, like I did, and come home rather tipsy and turn your clock back 5 hours 5 days ahead of time.

    *sigh*
