MAKE A BLOG: How-to make a TD blog

This is how to make a TalkDelaware Blog. It can be tricky but once you're signed up it should be easy to use.

I want to add here that I change the theme on the main blog from time to time so the colors might be a little different then in the screenshot but the fields and inputs will all be the same.

On the Forum Index under the Front Desk section is a link to Talk Delaware Blogs, click that.


This is the first screen you come to, click the "CLICK HERE" to get your own blog (red arrow)


That will take you to the below screen.
Once there enter in any username, this will be the name you log into your blog with
Enter a valid e-mail address (important)
PM CHASE FOR THE PASSWORD (CLICK). Type that into the security question
Select "Gimme a blog!" and hit next


IDK why but after that you have to scroll right to see the next page as show below.
Enter in your blog name, this is the url that your blog will be at.
enter in a title (can be changed later)
pick a privacy setting, i usually choose "yes" and click signup


after that you will get this e-mail shown below, click the top link to activate your blog


That link takes you to the page shown below. and send you a welcome e-mail

ONCE you get through all that you are good to go, WordPress is just about the most popular blogging platform out there and easy to use, it's just the signup here that is tricky...

I just signed up and confirmed my blog. Now I have to set it up. Darn there seems like alot to do with it

I just have one problem with the Blog. When I click on "Categories" it shows up blank. I have 4 categories in that section.

when you are in your blog admin, where you click to write a post

click write

on the right side where the categories are listed click/tick one of those boxes

write out your post

hit publish when done

then back on your blog, that category will show up and if you click the cat' it will list posts in that cat.

im thinking maybe you posted and hit save or save and continue instead of publish? idk, i just tested it in your blog and it seemed to work. check it out.

yeha if you "saved" a few posts and never "published" them then you might have some "drafts" to publish.

there isnt one, ill be adding a navbar link tonight. the link is shown as a forum section on the forum page under the info center.

well i have been working on the blogs, since 2 days ago i have had 50 (yes 50) spammers sign up for blogs, this was a major problem, so i think i have it fixed. While I was in there I upgraded the site and fixed up and tweaked a few things.

If you have a blog in there, write a post (I just did and I promise to keep blogging)
If you don't have a blog you must PM me for the signup password (it's the only way to keep spammers out)

O and I got the blog list added too....
