    GOP Walks Out Of House

Well, the Democrats are effing up in the House.

They won't put the FISA update on the floor.

They've put contempt of court charges against Bush's Chief of Staff and Harriet Meyers on the floor.

They want info on the fired prosecutors.

    This is a bad idea.

    The GOP just walked out.

Re: GOP Walks Out Of House

"President Bush has invoked a blanket executive privilege covering the testimony of all former and current White House officials and documents subpoenaed by Congress on the controversial firings.
The White House argues that the contempt-of-Congress laws do not apply to the president or any officials who invoke executive privilege, and that forcing the aides to testify would violate the Constitution's separation of powers."

And here I was under the impression that the four branches of government were intended keep an eye on each other. Silly me! Who needs checks and balances!?

(And before you reply with, "Silly DEwalkingman, there are only three branches of government, I was including Dick Cheney's 'Shadow Government'")

Let us dig our gardens and not be elsewhere:
Let us take long walks in the open air...
Let us bathe in the rivers and lakes...
    Let us indulge in games...
Let us be more simple: simple and true in our minds above all. Let us be ourselves.
