So back to the whole Google thing from 2 pages ago.......Sorry I haven't been around for a few weeks so I'm a little slow here..........We took the kids to Washington DC as part of celebrating our oldest turning 16. One of the museums we visited was Air and Space because we didn't get to spend a lot of time there last time we went. Anyway, they have a new exhibit coming out that they must have partnered with Google on. They just had a few things set up as a teaser, but one part consisted of about 6 huge flat screen monitors set in a semi circle with a toggle kind of switch on a platform in the middle. From the platform you can pick the Earth, Moon or Mars. Which ever you pick comes up on the middle most screen then you use the toggle to move in for a closer look. As you zoomed in the image spread out to the other screens. It was freaking amazing!! The Earth was so clear you could see the trenches in the ocean. I imagine it's kind of like Google earth on a much larger scale. But nothing on the earth is labeled. My son impressed the hell out of me by finding our house with absolutely no street, city or state labels or lines. He zoomed in on DE then found the C & D canal followed 896 to the old Chrysler plant site then surface roads to our house. I got a picture with him by the platform and a pic of our house taking up 3 screens behind him. The quality was amazing and a little scary. If there hadn't been such a long line of people waiting I could have played at that exhibit for hours!! lol
