    Re: Delaware Weather Forecast

Two of my three kids started Spring break today. Since it was so nice and sunny after school I took them to the park on Rt 40. Don't you know as soon as we unloaded skate boards and bikes the sun disappeared and it actually rained a little. Yay! Welcome to my life!! I was so pissed!! We lasted for an hour and then I had to pack it in since I was becoming a human popsicle. I am so ready for spring!!!
You can only make a mistake once. After that it's a choice.

FYI... since November, we have had 4 straight months of below average temps. April looks to to also be below average for the month.

I don't think so. February and March were below average, for sure. But December and January, no. There were only 2 days in December below average, and only 10 days in January, compared to many more days above average.

Link goes to actual temps and charts starting in December for Philadelphia.

ETA: I'm going by the chart. If a day was 41 when the average is 42, that's going to reflect as average on the chart.

There is more to it then just looking at that chart. I can't get more into it right at them moment (busy with work). Looking at the chart is misleading.

BTW, I'm not trying to be argumentative. Just didn't feel colder to me than usual, other than that one nasty ass cold snap we had in late January. Goddamn it was cold that week.

I'm over here by the New Castle airport. The winds over here typically gust around 25 to 30 on any given winter day. 22 degrees in 25 mph winds ain't no fun at all.

You sure about that? Where was all the snow if the temps were lower? Maybe that's why I remember it being a fairly mild winter.

Predictions are for an Active Hurricane Season This Year

Apr 10, 2013 -- 11:41pmWarm weather has finally settled onto the Delmarva Peninsula and University of Delaware climatologist Dr. David Legates tells WGMD that the summer is probably going to look a lot like it is right now. He's expecting temperatures to be above normal but that doesn't necessarily mean a drought as we get closer to June and July like in past years. He says right now we're experiencing the closest thing to perfect weather - as long as the rains continue to come.

As for the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane season - all predictions are for a more active year than we've had in the recent past. Both Dr. William Grey at Colorado State University and NOAA are predicting similar numbers for tropical storms.
    STORMS DR. GREY NOAA
    NAMED STORMS 18 12-18
    HURRICANES 9 6-10
    MAJOR HURRICANES 4 3-6
These numbers are well above the numbers from the 2012 Hurricane season, which produced Superstorm Sandy. Legates says that doesn't mean that every storm will be as powerful as Sandy and it doesn't mean that every storm will make landfall - or make landfall along the East Coast of the US - or in Delaware.

Frost Advisory for NCCo Until 8 a.m. Mon.

Apr 22, 2013 -- 4:25amThe National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for New Castle County until 8 o’clock this morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop into the low- to mid-30’s.
Forecasters say the frost could damage sensitive plants.
So ....What ever happened to the theory that temps were going to continue to rise??
