That always freaks me out. Did you have to pull over or were people being smart and slowing down with their hazards on? I always want to pull over but feel like a sitting duck when everyone else is cruising along. I try to set an example with the hazards and slow speed but Delawareans generally don't seem to understand that.

Hey Robb, What's the latest on Tropical Storm Isaac. Any prognostications on its path might take it up the Eastern seaboard (like Irene) rather than into the Gulf towards the Florida panhandle? I know hurricane behavior is not exact science especially those pesky , unpredictable male-named storms turned hurricanes(i.e. Andrew , );although last year's Irene was quite a doozy for Claymont here .

I have heard that the Republican National Committee has asked all republicans on the East Coast to get outside at 9am tomorrow morning and participate in a Hugh rain dance dance in order to bring the storm up this way and save the convention in Tampa.

longnecker, good idea! The RNC can recruit Occupy Tampa to fill out the weather parade --those kids love to dance, don't mind bringing wild flowers for their hair, and musical instruments to play ;preferably a tambourine or zither.

Yep. Plenty of beer and beverages. Got my jumbo cooler all cleaned out. I may run out for ice if it starts heavy while the store is still open. Not sure I want to blow $10 on ice just yet.

That was a disappointing storm. All this hype and all we got was light rain. No thunder, no lightning, no exciting storm.

Did anyone here get the brunt of this storm?

Not that I'm complaining. I was sure we were going to lose power, based on all the hype.

We had a storm down state this after noon. Nothing to get upset about.

Nothing in the Newark area. Some light rain. Some wind. Nothing I'd describe as heavy rain or a severe thunderstorm. Not that I was looking forward to anything severe, but a nice afternoon thunderstorm would have been right up my alley. Put on a movie, bring sleeping bags out for the kids, hunker down.

It seems like our area is being spared a lot of serious storms lately. The north and south of us get slammed, but we emerge relatively unscathed - recent tornadoes in Camden an exception.

It rained hard enough for the Phillies game to get rained out at Citizens Bank park last night . They rescheduled the game as a twilight doubleheader tomorrow. It was the first time since early Spring that I been able to get out and take the girls to a Phillies game. The girls didn't mind too much that there was no game ; they were having too much fun with the other kids romping down the aisles in their red plastic rain slickers, waving pennants , and laughing . Kids can devise a good time out of anything at anytime--it brought back some of the glory days of my own at the age of 9.

We only be in the 15% probability, who hoo. Winds are starting to pick up quick, and the waves seem to be getting a bit larger.

Would much rather not get anything but, guess I can't complain much since its only going to be part of today and all day tomorrow. Then we're back to the good stuff again.
