Iphone price drop, Jobs feels bad

Well some of you may have heard the top model iPhone's price was recently dropped by $200 to boost holiday sales. A lot of the people who paid the full price were pretty disgruntled, so Mr. Jobs, the nice guy that he is, gave them rebates....

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Sept. 6) - Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs apologized and offered $100 credits Thursday to customers who shelled out $599 for the most advanced model of the iPhone, only to have the company unexpectedly slash the price $200 in a push to boost holiday sales.

Seems as if he did it to squell the anger of many, but all in all, he didn't have to. So overall, nice move Mr. Jobs.

Apple dropped the iPhone price due to the upcoming holiday on the 8GB, and on the 4GB because no one was buying them. The refund wasn't so much a nice gesture as it was a business decision because Apple wants to sell those people who complained more stuff in the future.

I tell you, anyone who gets snookered into doing business with these folks at Apple must have a screw lose. For those who like to play snooker, there's a whole new line of iPods out too, if you hurry you can buy one before they get marked down.

I heard the 4GB iphone was discontinued... i agree with you about nobody buying them though.

I have a Samsung phone from Sprint. And guess what it can do? Now this is really cool, hold onto your hats.... It can MAKE and RECEIVE phone calls! Do you believe that! Incredible cutting edge technology. It did come with a price though. $120. That is the price Sprint PAID me to take the phone. I kid you not. After service credits and rebates, they ended up paying me.

I have to admit, I have an iPod - I got it for when I was commuting on the bus to and from work each day. And I love it. I got the big, video iPod. Know why? Because I lost the first one. Yup, two weeks after I bought one of those nifty little nanos, I lost it. $260 down the crapper.

But I did buy another one - the bigger one. Not to watch videos (which I have yet to do on the damned thing) but because it was big enough for me not to lose. And I love it. And I got it at cost from a local retailer (yes, I have some connections).

Would I buy another Apple product? Hell no. But I do love my iPod.
