This amazing new CIA-thriller by Ben Affleck was based on a historically accurate re-telling of the Carter Administration 's successful rescue attempt of six Americans November 4, 1979 who took shelter in the Canadian embassy during the Iranian Revolution.

They should follow it up with a sequel detailing the Eagle Claw mission.

No one said that all of Carter's policies were complete successes(no President can claim that even Ronald Reagan!) , but the important thing that Carter did succeed in doing was getting all of the Americans held hostage by the Iranians released unharmed. Carter's Algiers Accords and the backchannel diplomacy needed to pull it off ought to be the subject of a movie about one of America's finest moments.

I just saw this movie and it was great, maybe one of the best of the year. However, I don't see how Carter had anything to do with the operation as it was conceived and acted out by the CIA (namely Affleck's character).

Because the successful rescue was made under Carter's watch. You know kind of like how Obama got Saddam and Osama, although he really had nothing to do with it.
