MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - Delaware state police are investigating a four-vehicle crash involving two school buses. The accident occurred Monday morning at the intersection of Summit Bridge Road and Noxontown Road south of Middletown.
Police say the driver of an Appoquinimink School District bus rear-ended a car that was stopped to make a left turn. The car was pushed into the opposite lane, where it collided with a Christina School District bus carrying a five-year-old student from the Delaware School for the Deaf and an adult aide.
The student and aide, along with the driver of the Christina bus, were taken to a hospital for observation and treatment of minor injuries. The driver of a car traveling behind the Christina bus swerved to avoid the accident and struck a house, toppling the chimney.
