The GOP convention was a breath of fresh air, Clint Eastwood is my new hero. Incidentally, I did notice several female and minority speakers. BTW, they did a great job.

    Chiefbuck,
Clint Eastwood is my new hero. I did notice several female and minority speakers.. they did a great job. .
I agree. Clint did a fine job calling it like he sees it. I am surprised by the choice of Clint Eastwood though, since he was considered by the modern Republican neo-conservative party to be a traitor to the party after Clint's pro-auto bail-out Super Bowl ad. Besides ; Clint Eastwood had been very outspoken for years about his disillusionment with today's Republican party . I loved Clint Eastwood telling us last night about his life journey as an America First conservative.
I was an Eisenhower Republican when I started out at 21, because he promised to get us out of the Korean War. And over the years, I realized there was a Republican philosophy that I liked. And then they lost it. And libertarians had more of it. Because what I really believe is, let’s spend a little more time leaving everybody alone.
Clint also espouses some very progressive liberal ideas; he is tolerant of gay marriage(it doesn't effect him or his family in the least ), and he likes the California hipster style more than the Christian ,family values thing--he has seven kids from five different women , only two of which he married. These might be some of the reasons why we love Philo and Clyde too. The other star of the Republican Convention was far more glamourous and erudite; Condi Rice. She whipped up the crowd to a fevered pitch. She brought the house down by outspeechifying Ann Romney , Chris Christie , and Paul Ryan. That's right! Condi Rice ,a woman of impeccable conservative credentials, a pro-choice woman who accepts the existence of human-induced climate change as one of the most serious policy challenges to US security we've ever faced, and doesn't hate gay people. I believe that Mitt Romney made the mistake of a lifetime not picking Condi Rice as his VP running mate as the Drudge Report recommended over Paul Ryan or Chris Christie. Mitt Romney /Condi Rice would have been a very strong party ticket! Oh, well.
