    Thumbs up EteRNA: Fun with Nucleotides ..... no, really.....

    I love Logic Puzzles. I love Maths. I love solving things.

    If you are like me, you have to try EteRNA. The main idea of this game is to gather up the internet's ability to harness what is called "collective intelligence". Essentially, by playing this game you are helping advance the scientific communities understanding of RNA.

    Sounds intimidating? It isn't. You don't need to have a PhD in Algorithmic Combintrics to play and have fun (for Joe W.
    ). The site is using the power of large numbers of people to help speed up scientific discovery. It's worked in before and it looks like it's working again.

    Here is a link explaining in more detail.....

    Awww... don't give up.

    Here are a few tips to help you out when you get to the loops.... create a GC pair at the loop junctions and at the terminal ends. Then change all the other pairs to AU.

    Let me know if you need more explanations.

    Thanks Hockey, I love puzzles. I've bookmarked the article and the game, hopefully when I'm not so busy working 6 days a week I'll have time to check it out.

    @Bellicose,
    I think this thread just showed me how dumb I really am......
    Don't sell yourself short ,buddy. There was another guy who thought his errors were the true sources of his greatest successes in science. "I have not failed. I just found 10,000 ways that won't work"--Thomas Alva Edison.

    Edison? He was an opportunist. The real genius was Tesla.
