You might not know this song that a friend sent me last night after watching the Republican National Convention nominate Mitt Romney. I must say that this song is apropos here. Lesley Gore, "You Don't Own Me". http://youtu.be/CmOrWG2FTbg
thanks for the test post and pm GL![]()
Max,Come'on ,buddy. The Lesley Gore song is music , a bit dated from 1963, but still a pretty good song. Don't tell me that you are now in favor of censureship of songs that happen to have political themes? No Toby Keith or Ted Nugent either? I thought that you liked the political party of small government , out of our private lives ,including our ipads and stereo vinyl record libraries (you know;the 33rpm vinyl record albums that we used to keep in the small wooden crates in our college dorm room or basement playroom)So I guess any thread can be used as a political thread?
No, what I would like, and from what I gather a few other folks are in agreement is at least one thread that we do not turn into a political pissing match....
Hey Max,Never my intention, buddy. Let's make up. Do the Hully-Gully, Baby! with me. http://youtu.be/LNGUei3oR0Qwe do not turn into a political pissing match....![]()

Okay, let's return this thread to the awesomeness of summer music. Here's another band that I love, although I never thought in a million years that I'd be into this type of music. The Civil Wars have an amazing chemistry together. It's like their voices were made just to find each other and create this stuff.

An early Hall&Oates that still sounds swell with sippin' some late-night wine
Sundays in the summer seem to be set at a slower ,different rhythm from the rest of the week. After the Sunday newspapers have all been read ,including the funny papers to the kids, after the games in the backyard are over, the badmitten shuttle cock 'birdies', colored, plastic racquets, and net put away, bats &softballs stored back on the porch, the music is turned up at my house. Here's Kathleen Edwards, "Change the Sheets" to slow down the evening to a even more easy pace. Another glass of wine isn't out of the question.
