It looks like Cole Hamels will not be changing uniforms anytime soon.
ESPN is quoting sources as saying that the Phillies and Hamels have agreed to a six year contract extension worth just over $140-million, pending a physical.
The 28-year-old pitcher had been the focus of trade rumors - but not anymore. With this deal Hamels avoids free agency and makes him the second highest paid pitcher in history - the highest paid being CC Sabathia, who signed a seven-year deal with the New York Yankees in 2008 worth $161-million. source
