    14-year-old drives car into home

A 14-year-old boy crashed a GMC Yukon into a Bear townhome Saturday afternoon, causing no injuries but severely damaging the home, police said.
New Castle County Police said the boy got into the SUV shortly before 1:30 p.m. in Saddlebrook Townhomes off Del. 273. He was backing the vehicle out of the driveway when he saw another vehicle traveling toward him on Freedom Trail, police said.
The boy put the vehicle in drive and pressed the accelerator, but he lost control and drove across the front lawn and into the front door of the home, police said.
The boy and a family member who was inside the townhome were not injured.
A New Castle County building inspector determined the home was unfit for habitation because of structural damage, police said. The family was relocated.
The teen, whose name was not released by police, was charged with careless driving.

IDK about De but in some states you can take Driver's Ed if you're 14 years and 9 months old, and get a limited learner's permit.

HOWEVER, I'd like to know if he was getting practice in with parents present, or was he trying to impress his friends with that monstrosity?
