Does anyone else do Beachbody workouts?

As I've mentioned before, I'm a P90X fanatic; I've been through the program four times. I've just started Insanity. Here are my thoughts on my second day:

Does anyone else love these workouts as much as I do?

(Disclaimer: I am NOT a Beachbody Coach and I am NOT trying to sell Beachbody products; I sincerely just love the workouts.)

Good luck with P90X! Make sure you watch the intro DVD, and modify the exercises as you need to.

I just re-started Week 6 of Insanity after a two-week break; I'd developed plantar fasciitis. I bought heel cups, proper footwear and a night splint, and that put me back in the game.

Let this be a lesson: it's more important to focus on form than on speed and matching the people on the DVD. P90X doesn't have the heavy footwork that Insanity has, though, so foot problems aren't an issue with that program.

As Tony says on one of the DVD's, it's about getting results, not about getting hurt!

Re: Does anyone else do Beachbody workouts?

I just got done the first dvd, first workout, with my flabby self

    chest and back dvd

    i did ok

after the second set of pushups my arms were done though, had a few 0's in the rep column lol, i started doing them inclined on the bed to help and still get some work in.

It was pretty killer, i can't feel my arms right now. I tried to follow as close as i could with the dvd, form, etc, i dont feel much in my chest or back, mainly arms/biceps.

All good though, ab ripper was next on this dvd...is that like a extra? That is not a complete workout is it?

And just to be sure. I should be doing 1 workout/dvd per day (i have 13 dvd's i think) for 90 days. Is that right? Or?

You're supposed to do Ab Ripper after you're done with Chest & Back. You do it after all of the weight-lifting workouts; look at the schedule. The first three weeks look like this:

    Day 1: Chest & Back w/Ab Ripper
    Day 2: Plyometrics
    Day 3: Shoulders & Arms w/Ab Ripper
    Day 4: Yoga X
    Day 5: Legs & Back w/Ab Ripper
    Day 6: Kenpo X
Day 7: Rest or X Stretch

Then you go into "Recovery Week" on Week 4, which is different. I can't remember that schedule offhand. It's basically a week of Yoga, Kenpo and a tape called Core Synergistics.

Chest & Back is my favorite of the weight-lifting workouts.

Re: Does anyone else do Beachbody workouts?

After I'm done with Insanity, I'm going to do a P90X/Insanity hybrid or a P90X2/Insanity hybrid. I haven't decided yet.

Both of these programs have done great things for me. When I started P90X, I was having difficulty carrying my groceries. Now I can heft 50# bags of dog food. I also have far more flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. My balance and coordination have also greatly improved.

Insanity is enhancing my cardiovascular endurance and building my core strength. My core is still weak, but not as weak as when I began.

idk how i could do an hour of chest and back to the point my arms are say "FU CHASE!" and then do (what is it 30 minutes?) of ab ripper.

ill catch up on the ab ripper tonight and do disc 2 as well.....ugh.....i can do it!! bring it!! lol

its not helping that i dont have the actual DVD's so im doing it in my room watching on my computer and Angela is laughing at me the whole time.

Re: Does anyone else do Beachbody workouts?

Ab Ripper is, mercifully, only 16 mins. Some people do it at a different time of the day. For example, my husband usually does Ab Ripper in the morning and then the main workout later in the day.

As bad as you may think you look doing P90X, I look at least twice as bad doing Insanity. Trust me.
