You have the right to defense yourself with force and take a life of another because in your state of mind, you are in imminent danger. Sometime, ones state of mind can be very dangerous...Some members here's arguments sound a lot like the wild wild west...Even the wild west will try to avoid condition that lead to imminent danger. No, I am not disagreeing you can't defense yourself with force if need to...If you choose that route, then your state of mind will be on trial until proven guilty...
As for this so call community watch captain with weapon and foolishly 'created' a condition that led him to believe his life was threaten enough to take another life...Yes, he is entire to claim self defense but at least the kid's parents is given a chance to prove otherwise....
About the press bias ...yes, that's how they compete for readers...you can dislike as much as you can...but is it bias if you are giving this guy a benefit of the doubt? If some of you are so convince he did the right thing and a hero to the community...then let the justice process to work it's way...
We all can agrees or disagrees, the very fact that a kid is dead for walking through a gated community is incomprehensible and tragic... This shouldn't even happen at all...
