    that video kinda covers it.

there is no start button anymore

the main screen is the block looking things. most of your applications are there. you still have a desktop though.

windows 8 was built to integrate touch screen pc's and mouse and keyboard pc's.

apps is short for applications, all computers has used them since the beginning of time, your internet browser is an "app"

    anyway.

it is pretty cool, defiently a lot different. seems to be stable and speedy too. worth a try if you have a extra pc around. im running it on the computer bellicose gave me a while back.

Blah Blah Blah, don't tell APPle that...lol

Glad it still works! Just to let you know, pretty sure when this one goes kaput, and is out of Extended Warranty. I am pretty sure Wifey will want to get rid of it, because I am almost positive that she is wanting to go Apple all around. Thing is a beast compared to that one. Think we still have 2 maybe 3 years left on warranty though. Just getting you prepared for it....lol

    Re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview

I'm curious to see how well the switch from Intel to ARM based processors go for Windows 8. There may be some incompatibility issues.

The preview I saw on a tablet looked pretty cool with the interactive Metro apps. So much of Windows 8 looked like Linux though. And what's the deal with Linux? Is MS out to destroy them? I can't see any PC geek happy about the secure boot feature.

Let me know what you think of the preview.

Chase.... they were looking for IT volunteers to test drive Windows 8 Consumer Preview devices (tablets) before the launch.
    EDIT: (n/m - it ended 2/29)

XP will be going EOL (end of life) in April 8, 2014. I have Windows 7 on my home pc and it's just a resource hog compared to XP.
