Megaupload has had numerous charges and lawsuits on illegally uploading stolen material. Yeah, you're right, the Feds are trying to "make a statement". Piracy of copyrighted materials even on the internet isn't right.

Well their users uploaded it. But it was a good site to share large files that can't be sent via email.

I've used megaload but only when yousendit was down. It's great for sending large folders of pics, documents, etc.

It's not all illegal shit which sucks, like torrents, it's got a bad rep.
