My cousin tried the panzarotti at Rehoboth Beach a few years back...turned into a miserable failure - closed after one season. The original panzarotti place is in NJ (Medford, I believe), but they always bring the truck down for the I-Fest!

I haven't been to the I-Fest in about 10 years now. The last time I went I saw two teenage girls get into a fist fight at the seafood cafe...no high-pitched squealing and hairpulling, this was out-n-out fist meet face. Both of 'em landed 3 or 4 good shots, got some blood flowing out da nose, then they ran through the crowd. That was enough for me.

The cover should help with the punks. I think they should close the midway and focus more on the culture, the food, and the music (and the wine!).

Link's not dead, just more java crap. You have to go to the first page for St. Anthony of Padua, then click the link to the festival from there. The Festival page is cool enough, there's a live camera feed and details about what's what.

We just spent $100 going to our local, Holy Rosary Carnival. I'm not sure our budget could take a Saint Anthony hit.

I'll be at the Italian Festival tonight -- working at Il Markata (The little market tent with the tree and other Italian knickknacks from 5:30-10:30 if anyone cares to pop by and say hello.

Short hair, white shirt, khaki shorts.

The good at the Italian Festival has gone WAY DOWNHILL over the past couple of years. When I was younger, I remember all the food being homemade by all of the Italian oldtimers. Now it is just a bunch of frozen stuff along with restaurants supplying the food. All in all it is still a good time though.

My husband and I might head up tomorrow night with my brother and his girlfriend. We are still undecided. We went last year and I wasn't too impressed but I want some funnel cake...lol.

    Re: St. Anthony’s Italian Festival

Hi, this is my first post, so I guess I am not a posting virgin anymore?

Anyway, I used to go to the festival a lot as a teenager and now that I am married, my husband and I went for the first time in YEARS on Thursday night. It was fun- we paid our requisite $5, had some Peroni's and a spazzat, sausage and pepper sandwich, some broccoli rabe (gross), and a cannoli. It was nice to relax- the riff-raff definitely stayed away. After grabbing some Panzarotti's for the ride home, we decided it was a nice time- no rough crowds, good food, and nice weather. It was fun to see people of all ages enjoying themselves. Definitely better than when I was a kid, when it would get scary there after dark.

We were there last night, went in, payed the cover, went in the school there and ate. went out and got in a beer line. got our beers, sat under a tent, wind started whipping bad, started to rain, we just sat there and drank our drinks. Rain broke and we went out walking a bit, then we went to grotto's sat outside and had a few more drinks. wasn't the best experience but wasnt bad, there was less riff-raff that i saw.

I would be up for this, but I have to work around baseball playoffs and children I don't particularly like right now.
