    Email question

I along with some of my friends pass around a few jokes and whatever via email. Sometimes I get something I want to foreward that has a lot of history in front of it.(names of other recipients from several posters) Some times I can clean it up and others I get a message saying there was a problem forewarding your email. When I go back and try again forewarding it with all the junk it goes fine. What's up?

    Re: Email question

The thing that makes me insane is when people use CC: instead of BCC:. That exposes the entire list to spam-scraping. I have a nice polite form letter in my template file that describes the issue clearly and the easy steps to 'cut it out'. If you own you own email domain you can also make email aliases like "barnesandnoble@yourdomain.com", which can 1) alert you to who is selling your email addy, 2) when it 'gets out of hand' you can kill itwithout dumping your primary account.
Having done email administration part time for many years I will say that overall the internet email system has become a real cluster frak up. I attented a talk given by Erik Allman, the inventor of SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol). Almost a quote "Once we noticed more than 1/2 a dozen systems using it on the (then DARPA) net, we knew we were in real trouble". Spam measures and counter measures many times clash, and much legitimate traffic gets bounced. Email service providers are almost across the board unresponsive and over-the-top draconian legal penalties have everyone "running scared". My dad can't send email out from Verizon (his ISP) that has an http:// link in it. The bottom line is you are basically stuck with an email provider's filtering policies.
Well, that was kind of a rant. sry.
