No charges to be filed against Vance Phillips

No charges will be filed against Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips in connection with an incident in which Sheriff Jeff Christopher claimed Phillips threw a notebook that injured his eye and kicked him in the groin.

The Attorney General’s Office told Georgetown police in a letter released today that it has declined to prosecute the case.

Phillips remains at a Philadelphia-area hospital for physical therapy after suffering back injuries in an ultralight plane crash in Virginia shortly after the altercation with Christopher.

He declined to comment today, saying he has been focused on his rehabilitation.



Christopher could not be immediately reached for comment.



The incident occurred Oct. 26 at the county Republican headquarters

Holy shit, dude. If I'm mad enough to ACTUALLY kick you in the dick, then we're going all the way until one or both of us needs medical attention, cuz I fully intend to jack you up. I couldn't imagine a situation where I'd kick someone in the junk and then just stop. Unless the kick was some kind of Chuck Norris/Van Damme mega kick and the guy went down wailing in a heep, crying on the floor.

Either way, it's pretty much definitely an assault.
