    Question Craigslist Help

OK, so I know there are a lot of scammers out there with posts for jobs. I am looking for jobs, and need a little help weeding out the good from the bad. Any ideas? I find craigslist easy to navigate, but seems like every time I respond to a post it is a scam (and I have responded to a little over 100 posts in the past few months) Is there an easier site to go through, oh and I don't want to pay anything either. Since I am looking for a job, I don't have the extra cash to be giving these websites and I know some of them cost an arm and a leg!! My resume is up on Monster, but I had no luck there either. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

JP- Try Indeed.com. Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but it's a very easy to use site that lists the results like a Google search. SimplyHired.com is very similar to Indeed.

I've also heard good things abou TheLadders.com. While it does cost you to use it (I think $25/month) there is also a free preview option so you can see if you like it. The Ladders also offers resume editing and help as a bonus.

    Good luck!

JP, sorry I really don't have anything that would help. Other than be very careful with craigslist. Jess seemed to have good sites. I mainly just wanted to say good luck to you. I know how hard and frustrating it can be.

What type of job are you looking? (Don't answer here...just ask yourself). Then go to these companies websites and click on "careers" or "employment" links.

I check British Airways all the time.... Book Flights, Hotels, Holidays, Car Rental with British Airways - BA.com.
I would love to be able to fly anywhere they fly for free (or close to it) which is a perk of being an employee of an airline. Even if it mean I makes minimum wage and have to clean the loos.

    good luck.
A lot of companies are hiring from within and with so many people needing jobs, using "word of mouth" is beating all those mass websites and having to pay for adverts.

You don't need to answer these, but....Are you looking for a career or a job?...there's a big difference. Is there a specific company you want to work for? Do you know anyone that works for that company...networking is the best bet...most jobs come from referrals, so you have to put yourself out there - put your plan together and then execute it...just putting your resume out there and responding to random ads isn't going to get results...10% of the population is doing that and having the same results.

You can always check the website for state jobs, too.

I'm not sure what you want, but if you're broke and need quick cash, hit me up. The place where I'm temping ain't great, and this particular position only pays $8/hour, but they are hiring temps for the packing department (mail room) to work from now until Christmas. They're way behind and pretty desperate; you walk in, fill out an application, get interviewed immediately and start the next day. It's located in Aston, near Sun Valley High School.

If you'd rather email me, I'm trothaar and I live at gmail.com. Anyone else who is in need of quick cash can email me, too.
