I have 2 girls, Makayla and Jordan

Makayla was Angela's pick, I like it well enough, it fits her.

Jordan was my pick, I didn't name her AFTER the Jordan (Girl) that I grew up with but I did always like the name and it does fit her I think.

IF we did have a boy, it will be a huge fight. There are A LOT of little Chase's running around for various reason, I really like my name though and I think I would go with Chase (no Jr.) for my son. Angela's not trying to have that though...and it is her turn to pick, so IDK about all this 3rd kid business....lol

Well that is one way of looking at it, but another would be. She picked the first, you picked the second, and you both pick the third. Either way you are going to lose Chase, but at least the third one, you will have some say in it.....lol

Oh and good call on the Jr part. You could always change the middle name though, so there would only be a small little chance for confusion later in life.

I pick awesome names, enough said.
I let you have your turn and now our daughter is referred to as a boy 90% of the time.
I have one Chase in my life and that's enough.

The girl has been all over the place, Mikayla, MacKenzie, Charisma.

But don't matter because it is all being sqa-dushed in less than a month (hopefully). Consultation is Monday, then I get to know the exact date, yippee!
Funny, I have GIRL named Jordan

I have 3 children and only had a say in naming 1 and a half of them....let me explain:
I had my oldest daughter before I got married...I know shocking....I was single so I didn't have to clear her name with anyone but me so she has my mom's middle name for her first name and my bff from middle school to present for her first name. (Diane Lyn) My middle and youngest children were named by their father...my ex. My middle daughter is named after his brother who passed away at 3 y/o and my son is a Jr. Big regrets there....I wanted my son's name to be Daniel James or James Daniel and my daughter's name was going to be Melissa Jean. Alas their names are Leslie Jean and Harry Vincent.....

I don't regret any of the names (first or middle) I gave to my three kids. As a parent, it's tough to find the perfect name for someone you've never met, or is only a few days old. Hopefully it's appropriate. But as a parent, i have no regrets on the names....

I think the bigger question to ask is:

Does your child regret the name you gave him/her?

I have no children, but loads of my friends have kids now, and I cannot STAND some of these friggin names I see my friends/peers naming their kids. Seriously, my Facebook is littered with babies with terrible names. And one of them whom I'm close with has expressed regret in her daughters name, and preferred for a while at least, to call her by her middle name, though I think she's gotten over it by now.

But seriously, the names that are 'popular' by todays standards are just horrid. Call me old fashioned, but I can't stand some of these shits. I give maybe 10% of the new parents I know props for their baby's names.

Me personally, I all ready have ideas for my future children, though I'm sure it will turn into a war with whomever I plant my seeds in over naming rights.

My biggest problem with modern baby names is pronunciation. People will name a child spelling their name a certain way, but pronouncing it with complete disregard for grammar and phonetics. It's a perversion of the English language and will be the reason the Chinese conquer us in the next 200 years.

Re: 8 Percent of Parents Regret Their Baby's Name, Survey Finds

Anyone think this couple will? It sure seems like they already are. For those of you that do not know. It is a Xbox 360 game.

Parents name child after ‘Skyrim’ character

Here's a good way to ensure your kid gets his lunch money stolen on a regular basis.

Meet Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer. That's right, Dovahkiin. As in, the protagonist of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Born 11/11/11 -- the same day that the game was released -- he's made his family the winners (?) of a contest that ensures free Bethesda games for life.

Bethesda, in a publicity stunt announced in February, promised lifelong free games to anyone who named their child (which had to be born on 11/11) after the character. Whether the company expected anyone to take it up on the offer is another matter entirely.

Megan and Eric Kellermeyer did just that, though.

In a blog post, the parents acknowledge the name could cause their son some issues, but say it's one they truly love and likely would have chosen even if Bethesda hadn't launched the contest.

"I wanted him to have a unique name," writes mother Megan Kellermeyer, who adds that she's not a gamer. "I am so picky about boy names that I was having a lot of trouble finding just the right one. We've toyed with Dovahkiin and the ramifications of naming a child that name, and that name being based on a video game character (however awesome), and what impact that would have on him. But the more I thought of it, the more I settled on Dovahkiin, contest or no."

Dovahkiin's parents say they told friends and family members of their decision before their son was born and very few raised concerns. And with a more common middle name, he'll always have an out.

"He will have a perfectly normal and common middle name if the first name becomes too much for him or us or we just want to call him a nickname," says Megan.

Still, there are some upsides to the name, despite the almost inevitable playground taunting it will likely engender at some point. For one thing, how many kids have their own theme song?

Plus, there's that whole 'free Bethesda games for life' thing, which is pretty rad. Unless, of course, it turns out that he doesn't like video games.

My first reaction to that ^^^ was "Oh for the love of God!! The ish people do." But then I remembered it could always be worse (being named after Adolph Hitler comes to mind)..........Although you know this kid is gonna get his name all kinds of miss spelled and jacked up over the years.

WTF? The game hasn't even been out for a week and people are treating it like its Final fuckin Fantasy 7. I haven't played it yet, bought it last Friday though. I'll be sinking my teeth in soon.

    One word: Boss!!

Dovahkiin is a hell of a lot easier than some of the hood shit i deal with on a daily basis. Day'janaisha comes to mind.
