We lost power this morning at about 10:30 due to a downed tree. It came back on about 3:30, not too bad. A neighbor across the street had one of their trees come through their bedroom window. No one was hurt.

Haha no... but that water was moving quick... life threatening definitely, especially if you hit one of those bridges that the water was hitting the top of.

We lost power at 9 last night. Went to my parents, came home this morning, had 2 inches if water in the basement (unfinished) parents were on they way to the house with the generator and the power came back on. All dry now.

we are still without power. tree in the neighborhood came down and obliterated the transformer and the pole it rested on. Until someone can come and cut up and remove the tree they cannot replace the pole and transformer and install the lines and restore electricty.

Saw a power guy this morning and talked to him and he said that they might be able to get the tree removed sometime today and the pole replaced tomorrow. At the earliest he said that by wednesday we will have power back

Thank you everyone for your responses....sorry I didn't get back to you until today. I literally was posting a response on my inlaws computer when the power went down and my phone was virtually useless during the storm and I don't get very good reception below the canal anyway. Anyway....my employer did not give me a hard time about not working on Saturday at all. So, I decided to not work so that I could be with the kids. We lost power on Saturday afternoon and it was not restored until late Sunday afternoon. We ended up playing board games and stuff...it was actually pretty fun....except for the fact that they have well water which requires electricity for the toilets to flush, but of course there are ways around that as well :-). Hope everyone else is safe and sound as well.

America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004

I think she was crying because of the lost history, not b/c a bridge was gone but because this historic covered bridge was gone.

Tracy ,that's why people on wells learn to clean and fill the tub. Great flush water. Also, unless you are tankless you have water in your hot water tank. Now all the extra water I have in my pitchers will be used to make sun tea, coffee, hot tea, water my house plants and maybe even wash my car. I already paid for it and I'm sure too cheap to just dump it.
