Spaying and neutering should happen between 4 and 5 months and definitely before the female goes into heat at around 6 months.
I was at UPenn today and forgot to ask how much they charge for spaying and neutering. I'll ask tomorrow.... since I'll be chatting with them again.

Ok. The kittens are now over 8 weeks old. They get along great with my dogs and other cats. They are smart enough to leave my female cat alone, since she hates them

I was considering the little girl kitten but I'm currently dealing with a Golden who is being treated for cancer. I don't think she'd be happy with a new kitten jumping all over her and taunting her. Really bad timing.
I'll be back to Penn's Vet hospital Thursday.... I'll ask the docs what they think.

a cat would probably be a good deterrent to my mouse problem but with a dog , 2 chinchillas and a goldfish don't think its feasible here. good luck in finding them good homes

Well we are down to just one kitty!! YAY! My brother in law took the little girl home with him today, along with two out of my three kids. It's a wonderful day all around! lol It will be nice that we can go visit her.
