    Airport Travels

I know I am not the only seasoned traveller here on Talk Pa. I have getting through security and boarding planes down to a science. No checking bags, taking the least amount of time through security, etc...

I think there may be some that can benefit from my experience and the experiences of others.

    Have a question? Ask away

Have a suggestion - Post it. Always willing to learn a new tip

My first tips - Go as simply as possible. Even if you have to travel in a 3 piece suit there are things that you can do to make going through airport security quickly for yourself and those others that are in line behind you.

don't wear lace up shoes or boots, wear something that is going to be quick and easy to pull off and put back on. And if you do have laces, start to untie them before you get to the bins.

When you get through the X-ray machine, grab your stuff and go into the terminal before you lace up and re-tie you shoes, put your belt on, etc... You should not be holding us more prepared people up by you redressing. I want/need to grab my stuff and go. I came prepared.

you should pack your belt, ipod, phone, bluetooth, liquids, game players, etc... into a bag before you go through the X-ray. You should not need 8 bins for your stuff and the assorted things that you carry in your pockets. One bin for laptop, one for your shoes and liquids. Carryon and laptop bags go through on their own.

Don't put your ticket in the x-ray bins and hold us up going through security because you didn't hold you ticket for the TSA to verify that you should be passing through.

    Re: Airport Travels

Great tips! Keeping all needed documents out is a must. Fumbling through purses and packs are time suckers.
For some unknown reason I have been accused of being a travel jinx. Every time I go through the airport you can be assured of a delay. My boss (who I work with on occasion) now refuses to travel with me. :~). The blizzard, not my fault.
The flight delays (multiple), not my fault. The car rental people on strike holding us for 30+ minutes, not my fault. Him getting the ultra-special security check, not my fault. Landing gear delay, not my fault........ I just don't get it. Personally I saw the common denominator as HIM! Except for the initial customs issue that took over 30mins...Oh, wait a minute, maybe it was me.
    No good deed goes unpunished
