    Rising sea levels threaten Delaware

Coastal, inland areas face habitat loss, flood damage Rising sea levels threaten Delaware coast | The Daily Times | delmarvanow.com

Molly Murray's article on sea level rise and climate change threatening Delaware was excellent! The article demonstrated that man-made built-capital solutions are often more expensive and less efficient than preserving the health of the natural ecosystem.

Didn't the earth just suck down 100's of thousands of gallons of water causing that tsunami? Wasn't that like pulling the drain plug in the ocean or something? Yet and still they say the ocean are rising?

It is getting to the point that I think "They" are telling lies.

Face your fears, don't whine about them....when the sea rises, it'll suck back the sand that the corp of engineers put there....and the newly seeded oyster beds...nothing you can do about it. Besides, 12/21/2012 will be here soon....or 5/21/2011 if you believe the billboards.

Re: Rising sea levels threaten Delaware

Republicans are ramping up to try and cut funding for the EPA and tackling climate change--the GOP needs the money to pay off their big oil and coal large donor interests. Here's what Obama actually wants in his budget: As is Obama's usual style, he wants to split the difference in order to get a bi-partisan deal; He proposed to drop the carbon trade provision (which could have made $650 billion dollars for the US Treasury) because lawmakers from oil and coal producing states blocked the entire Climate Change Bill stalled in the Senate. In exchange ,Obama hopes to sign the Climate Change Bill as soon as the Senate passes it.
"The proposed budget for the fiscal year to September 30, 2011, said the administration would push for a "market mechanism" to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 17 percent in 2020 compared to 2005 levels."..The emissions reduction targets in the budget are in line with those Obama has pledged at an international level.

"I don't think you can read anything into the budget about the administration's wavering on a commitment on a comprehensive climate bill," said Evan Ard from Evolution Markets, a carbon and energy broker based in New York."-

Re: Rising sea levels threaten Delaware

"John Stuart Mill. A hundred and fifty years ago, in his Principles of Political Economy, he looked ahead to the sort of world we'd have if human population and economic activity continued the growth rates he was seeing in 1848. He did this in order to argue against the idea that more is always better, but today his reductio ad absurdum reads like dismally accurate prediction. There isn't much to like, he said, in a world

" with nothing left to the spontaneous activity of nature; with every rood of land brought into cultivation, which is capable of growing food for human beings; [with] every flowery waste or natural pasture ploughed up, all quadrupeds or birds which are not domesticated for man's use exterminated as his rivals for food, [with] every hedgerow or superfluous tree rooted out, and scarcely a place left where a wild shrub or flower could grow without being eradicated in the name of improved agriculture." SEE: Eric Zencey, "The Other Road To Serfdom" for more reasons to put an end to 'infinite planet economics'.
