    OK GUYS LISTEN UP

I have added a poll here, it multiple choice, don't screw it up....lol

    IF YOU ARE PLANNING GOING:
Pick what kind of event and kids or no kids

IF YOU ARE NOT PLANNING GOING:
    Pick not attending

    My thoughts here:

I think i would like a outdoor thing, horseshoes, maybe volleyball, other games, BBQ, food, outdoors, kid friendly etc.

BUT that would entail me securing a spot somewhere and getting food and stuff, i really don't have alot of funds, so if your going i would have to charge a nominal fee (just to cover costs) for "tickets" or something like that.

I'm not opposed to a sit-down either, and it would certainly make it easier, either your there or your not, and you pay for what you order. We could still have a place to get together the kids could enjoy as well.

Maybe an outside thing wouldn't be a bad idea.. But is everyone going to bring potato salad?? I'm not too sure if I'd be up for an outside thing. I kinda like the idea of an indoor restaurant/bar.

Scrappy, there are ways to organize an outside event. We could create a list perhaps so that we can ensure that not everyone brings potato salad. I would even volunteer to get the list together, because its THAT easy!
Also, it's cheaper to bring something rather than pay for a WHOLE meal at a restaurant! And I'm all about being cheap!

It's cool.. lollsie21, I understand what you mean about the cheaper side of things. It's just, what if some one just wants to 'stop by' to meet everyone, but not stay?? The summer months are usually my busiest and I doubt I'd be able to talk the wife into letting me there for the entire day.. I'd love to be able to put faces to these names. Everyone is great here!!!

If I could even make it, I would prefer an outdoor with kids. I'm a single mom with no sitters, so I can guarantee without a kid friendly event I wouldn't make it. Overall, I would like to meet everyone.

    Exclamation Re: Forum Member Dinner

I'll put my vote out in public ...

Read the title of this tread, it's Forum Member Dinner.

A few of us were talking about a gathering in the ShoutBox, now a while ago, we were thinking we could meet in a place that would or could accomodate a larger group of adults for dinner and or drinks ... thus, this thread was born.

Now, it appears to have been hijacked, and turned into a "feel good" type of thing where everyone can have some input and offer up reasons why or why not they could or couldn't attend based on the many different styles of everyone's lives and the different situations that we're all in.

That's great, and I can appreciate that some of us are married with kids like myself, it's awesome that some are single, some have school, some have this, that, and still some can't even read so I could take this opportunity to talk bad about them, but that wouldn't be nice, now would it ... illustating absurdity by being absurd.

Personally, I'm not really all that interested in meeting outside for a picnic as the weather turns warmer ... I'm not really much for flies and mosquitos trying to have a meal as I enjoy mine, call me crazy ...

I'm also not interested in cooking on outside grills, assuming there are grills to cook on that have been used by everyone and their brother over the last several years, add to that the fact that Delaware Parks are now "Carry in Carry out" ... that means no trash cans, and from what I have seen that means more trash on the ground and more of a mess generally speaking.

Then we look at the issue of securing a place, and a possible fee for catering, et al ... why put the onus of arranging this on anyone, we'll decide on a restaurant based on the number of those who are going to attend and we'll all show up on the date that we decide. No one has to cook, no one has to clean, no one has to swat the flies ... just show up.

Now, a picnic may be fun for some folks and I would be all for you having a picnic ... If someone, or a few folks are interested in having a picnic, that's great, start a picnic thread ...

And hey, this isn't meant to be negative, really ... I'm having nothing but fun here at TD ... !

As long as there is booze involved, I don't give a shit/f-ck/rat's ass where you have it. Please don't ban me, just having some adult fun...WOO HOO!

Can we have two?? One adult restaurant one
    and one fun-outdoors kids one??

Perhaps if someone had a big enough yard we could have it there. I would offer, but I have large scary dogs who like to eat strangers and small animals.

    Re: Forum Member Dinner

    good points

and after reading MO's reply here, he's right, when we originally chatted in the shout, it was a Dinner. So 1st get-together is dinner at a restaurant.

So restaurant suggestion anyone? keep in mind it should be able to sit a larger group.

MO suggested Damon's on 13, and i concur. Good food, good drinks, good prices....

    anyone have any ideas?

and we will try and set a date thats within the next 2 weeks if we can.
