15 y.o. arrested for bank robbery

WILMINGTON — A 15-year-old Delaware boy has been arrested for robbing a bank in Claymont, Del.

Delaware state troopers arrested the teen Friday in Wilmington after one trooper recognized him from prior shoplifting investigations.
The bank robbery occurred Wednesday afternoon at a bank located inside a Super Fresh grocery store. Police say the teen handed a bank teller a note demanding cash but did not display any weapons. The teller gave the teen an undisclosed amount of money, according to police, and he fled the bank.

The youth has been charged with robbery and is being held at the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center.

15 years old and already robbing banks? Sad.

He's got a great future ahead of him.

That's brave (or stupid) robbing a bank in a grocery store with so many people in there.

Hijacking a little bit here...did anyone hear what happened at the TD Bank on 7 (across from Gov. Square) on Friday? I went there to take some coins and there were 3 state troopers sending people away.

I think that might have been the day they were robbed too. I'm almost positive that was the TD bank that I read about being robbed. The guy got away with some money but the teller put a dye pack in and it exploded. Try looking it up in the News Urinal.

Sorry...I'm in Lewes and I'm trying to keep this vacation 'police' free.

It sounds like a robbery. Oh and motherof3... dye packs are great but get this.... banks are starting to use tracking devices now. So if they switch cars or are on foot, they can be tracked to their houses. Muwahaha..... brilliant.

A tracking device is an awesome idea, but part of me just loves the thought of a dye covered robber running around. The tracking device is a much more effective tool, but the my evil side just loves to imagine the robbers face when the dye pack explodes (preferably in their face!)

Re: 15 y.o. arrested for bank robbery

one time Hope was in the Acme in University Plaza and she was taking a long time. I call her several times and she did not answer. Of course I was worried. Then she called and told me the bank in the Acme was robbed and they had the place on lock down. I hate that fricken store.
