No, no coats for me! Eek!
I looked at the pet store but their prices are outrageous and the chinchilla seemed completely terrified of people. I think I may get one from a rescue in Maryland.

Sorry this is a month late, but I always wanted one of those cute animals... until I read just how much maintenance they are....
Some of the larger pet stores usually have them. The store almost next to the Bear Library usually has at least one.

Ham and Cheese!!!Love it.
Normal is a setting on a dryer.

my mom got my kids hamster to be friends with ham and cheese. I figured when i heard that my kids would be a tad skittish around the rodents so i go to my moms to get the kids and there they are, watching tv and chillin with their hamsters...holding them....i was cracking up, all of a sudden they are like jungle john.
My youngest is a tad rough on hers, we are constantly telling her to take it easy on the little guy.

I have on occasion seen them for free in the classifieds in the Wilmington newspaper. They might be bad tempered or something. I'll start watching again.
That one on the left looks like the devil rodent....

We did the whole hamster thing a few years ago. I ended up having to strap the cage to a table because our one cat thought they were his personal play things/food. After the cage hitting the floor for the third time I gave up trying to find a "safe" place for it and just strapped it down. I hated that stupid rodent! It was a biter, despite being a type that wasn't supposed to be very aggressive and that damn wheel drove me crazy at night! lol Needless to say I wasn't very remorseful when we had to bury the sucker in the back yard! lol He did have a lovely funeral thanks to the kids though, decorated shoe box/coffin and allOur oldest even wanted to dig him up to take him with us when we move, had to tell her it was against the law to exhume and animal after burial. All the while I'm going EWWWWWW inside at just the thought! Good luck with yours!!
You can only make a mistake once. After that it's a choice.
not a fan of the hamster....I've had two...the first one died within a day...the second one was EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!
America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004
