America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004

My son's graduation is Wednesday and Graduation Party on Saturday. Both scheduled outside and weather is iffy at best.

I thought Saturday was looking good.

True, so very true! Where is Robb when you need him?
Think for the afternoon today, you should be good. Saturday is still looking OK, but just OK.

We are at different ends of the state. It has been raining here most of the day. The hourly forecast looks like it should stop around if 5PM (if you can count on that) field and bleachers would be wet. School has not made a call yet. I know no hurry Graduation is not til 7PM.

I hope your son had a wonderful night regardless of the weather LN. I know he's really made you proud so I hope it was a good time with family and a memorable start to his future. Congrats on getting another one through high school![]()

Thanks Mom.. This should really go in the What makes you happy thread. About 3 pm the school called to say that the Graduation was going to be outside based on weather report that it was clearing. At that time it was still raining. The call did say seats would be wet so be prepared. We left the house at 5 o'clock for the 7 o'clock ceremony and were not too early. We did take towels to dry the seats off. The school did an excellent job parking all the cars which filled the paved lot and most of an adjacent field!! We were able to get seats at the top of the bleachers which I love. The FootBall Stadium was FULL. Standing room only. The graduation went great with the speakers being reasonably short. After the ceremony everyone was down on the field.Of course I was thrilled to congratulate my son and his girlfriend and also greeted many of his classmates who I have known through our sports teams. Afterward we went with our family and girlfriend's family to the PizzaPalace in Georgetown, Fortunately we got there quickly and had our 16 seats. BIG line outside. Everything went well. It was a really great night. Now we sweat out our Graduation pool party Saturday night.

Four kids in my daughter's class have had lice recently. Guess what I'm doing all day? Laundry from hell, literal nit picking and discovery of preventative measures. Insert expletive here. Friday Fun Day indeed.
Normal is a setting on a dryer.
Awwww that SUCKS!!! So sorry Sugr. We went through that when our kids were younger. Both my girls had really long hair too. Put any stuffed animals or pillows in the dryer on high heat or put them in a sealed plastic bag for I think it's 5-6 weeks. You have my sympathies. I remember being in a frenzy trying to scour the kids, the house and then going out spraying down the interior of my car at 1 AM. Good luck!!
