    What makes you smile?

We have pissed and happy so I figured something in between would be interesting. Here goes.

Walking past the bedroom this morning and seeing my wife still asleep after she said an hour ago, "5 more minutes."

Going to the pool on Memorial Day and seeing my son on the lifeguard stand. Brought back a lot of fond memories. All the way back to when it was in the kids pool there.

shopping for my baby nephew who is going to be born any day now. It's been so long since I've had to step foot down a baby aisle anywhere, that I was flooded with memories of buying for my girls when they were just spazzy little eating, sleeping, pooping machines.

Which in turn made me dream that I was pregnant with twins. Actually, maybe that was a nightmare??

If you were playing with the kids shouldn't be a problem or any one else's business. By your self might appear strange.

Curly. Ya left out the rather important word "been," but it's all good just the same. By the way, on a different note, the smoke detector grant was not renewed, so "Wake Up Delaware" may be over. To me that's somewhere between happy and sad.

    Re: What makes you smile?

What made me smile today was seeing the pride my son had in his school project. He had to build a "car" out of house hold items, that actually moved. He ended up using a water bottle and the huge wheels from one of his remote control cars. It didn't compare to the model cars he and hubby have built together, but he was so proud of making it his way and that it worked! So damn cute!!

This might seem silly, but it makes me smile when I prove to myself that I am both intelligent and capable enough to tackle small household repairs on my own.

I fought the bathtub drain tonight and emerged victorious.

rock on girl! I still have my own tools that I've had since I got my first place at 19. It does make you feel good to be able to fix simple stuff at least. Although I draw the line at anything electrical.

It makes me smile to hear that my son's baseball coach has managed to provide meaningful encouragement and boosts to P's self-esteem with one single positive comment about his performance.

Never underestimate how kind words can effect those around you - especially those of you in positions of authority over kids.

    Re: What makes you smile?

My 17 y.o. who is working 2 jobs got up this morning and said he is going out to cut the grass. Doesn't start work til 5PM today. Both Mom and I told him to let it go because it's going to be so hot. He's going to wash his truck after he gets done cutting grass. Oh to be young and have so much energy.
