Post office suspends service due to vicious cat

LONDON (AP) - Britain's postal service says it has suspended deliveries to a woman following repeated attacks by her 19-year-old cat.
Royal Mail said Friday that it had halted deliveries because postal workers had already sustained "nasty injuries" at the address in the town of Farsley, near Leeds in northern England.
The woman was identified as a 43-year-old pharmacy worker. Media reports say she found it hard to believe that her cat, named "Tiger," could be behind the attacks.
She told two newspapers the animal spent most of its day sleeping and didn't have the energy to chase postal workers

I agree with the woman, the only 19 year old cat I have ever known spent 95% of her time sleeping, and the other 5% eating and crapping. Heck, most that I know stopped chasing little critters when they got to mid-age.

I agree. My brother gave my mom a cat years ago and I didnt want it to go outside so I brought it upstairs with me, hubby and birds and it is happy to turn into a bird and stay indoors.

A few years ago the postal person left my parents a note saying that they wouldn't leave anymore mail until they got rid of their visitor in the mail box. There was a small hole in the back of the mail box and a small snake would get in there to keep warm. So guess who got elected to plug the whole and make sure the snake was gone. This was before me and hubby married.

I agree that cats should be kept indoors, but oddly, in the UK, they believe the opposite: they think it's cruel to keep cats indoors.

In some ways, British culture is very much like ours, and in other ways it is completely different. This is one of those ways in which it is completely different.

And now for something completely different.
