    Re: Electronic Cigarettes

My sister used the patch and she actually said it was easy to quit and she smoked like a pack a day...you might want to try that. I have total sympathy for those trying to quit....like I've said repeatedly, we all have our addictions....some of us have to have major surgery to overcome theirs.

America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

"Analogs" (this is the term used by e-cig users for real tobacco cigarettes)

so i went from 20-30 Analogs a day everyday for 10 years with a few failed attempts at quitting, using the gum, patch, and medicine (chantix)

i had 4 analogs on Monday

    i had 2 yesterday

i am totally ready to go for 0 today...only reason i smoked yesterday is cause it was there. i dont own or carry a pack of cigs now, i stole 2 from Ang last night.

    >IMO< and the opinion of a very large and active forum i am on now, e-cigs/personal vaporizers work

i would dare to say it is even easy....easy to quit.

now of course i still get the nicotine, but i dont get any of the other 4000 nasty chemicals.

there is a lot to learn and what not about e-cigs, what kind of cig/device is for you, what kind of cartridge, what kind of liquid, etc. but it is actually like a hobby (if you choose it to be) like there is a huge world of e-cig/vaporizer stuff on the internet....it's kinda neat to me.

DO NOT do what I did and buy the one from the mall, it is WAY WAY overpriced (i learned the hard way ) you can get up and running for $50 and spend about $10 a week if that to keep going.

if you are a smoker and really want to quit and tried everything like i have i would give it a shot.

ps. i have been reading a lot about the health risks or benefits of e-cigs. the general consensus of pretty much all of the medical community is that they are at least better for you then smoking tobacco cigs.

Did you find one particular web site that you thought had a good deal? I wanted to look into getting one for me and one for hubby. Our target quit date is July 5th. I've tried so many times to quit. I think something like this may help because it will give me something to hold and I will still feel like I'm smoking. When I quit and then get stressed I always want something in my hand.

A very ornery part of me was going to make a suggestion for what to put in your hand but the very proper part of my just wouldn't allow it. Congrats to you both on trying to stop. I had a friend many years ago, before all the stop smoking aids, that was really, desperately determined to finally stop after having almost made it for several weeks. He some how attached the very last one anywhere in the house to a rat trap and set it. It worked! His aversion to the thought of the pain was more than his need for nicotine and he never snapped the trap. He never smoked again.

Thanks Chase. There is a lot of info on that forum! My next door neighbor had bought one at the mall last year. She hasn't been using it so she brought it over for me to try. I just need to get cartridges now that aren't menthol. (ewwww) But I can't wait to try it, I think it may really help me quit. I feel a little less panicky about quiting. God knows I've tried everything else out there and so far I'm still smoking.

yeah dont buy from the mall, WAY overpriced....here is what i sent my co-worker

most people refer to e-cigs as PV’s or personal vaporizers, just so you know the lingo

good topic on the best kits for a starter e-cig here

I think if I had to choose I would get the KR8 myself….link to a good deal from a solid supplier

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

Thanks Chase. I was reading threads on the E-cigarette forum last night. I kind of like the starter kits on AquaVapor just for all that you get for the prices. There are so many types to look at and some of the slang has me scratchin my head goin huh? But there is a lot of good info. My goal is to find something that will help me put up my cigarettes (analogs) for good. I really think if I have an alternative like this to use when I have cravings I'll be much more successful in quiting. So thanks again for all the info!

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

im doing pretty good. even with my weak little rn4081 i get enough vapor and nicotine and battery for it to not be a hassle and definitely gets me through the dau without real cigs. i smoked like 3 cigs yesterday. im under a lot of stress right now, a lot, so that is contributing to it.

i am looking for something a bit beefier and am thinking of buying "the chuck" tis a manly mans vaporizer.

THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing!

its one guy that builds then all by hand in his garage..somewhat of a legend i guess, but they are supposedly very good and fairly cheap.

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

    they are funny...lol

i just got some new stuff in yesterday

    5 new flavors

watermelon - not as good as i thought, tastes good but it's a little harsh
flue cured tobacco - bought this to mix down with the menthol i have but it is bangin by itself, i like it a lot.
rum and coke - really good, tastes just like it
kool - different menthol flavor, mild and good
"jeffs mix" - the owners special mix of tobaccos and a hint of cherry, very nice and smooth

with all these good flavors and stuff i def see myself quitting this week/weekend.

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

i honestly think you will be surprised at how easy it is. maybe not to totally quit quit...i still smoke 1 or 2 real cigs a day, but that is a drastic reduction....

I guess you got the classic kit? RN4081? that is what i have and i like it. it is small and has enough battery to last a while. along with my new liquids i got a usb passthrough and some cartomizers as well....tis an awesome thing.

basically i can plug it into any usb plug and thread any cartridge on and vape with no need for a battery. it is actually a little stronger then the battery so you get a little warmer and lots more vapor. also you can save your batteries for when you need them on the go.

the cartomizers are basically a empty cartridge and a atomizer all built into one for a super cheap price. i got 5 for $9. you pop the end off, add 15-20 drops of liquid and go....real convenient.

i just ordered from this place, wordupecig, they are real good and fast shipping

    passthrough for the RN4081
    RN 4081 Pass Through

    cartomizers for RN4081
    Cartomizers For All Batteries

im just passing along info and what works for me, i see some people on the forum that are frustrated cause they spent a bunch of money on stuff they dont need or doesnt work good and that sucks ya know.

Thanks for the info Chase. Yeah I ordered the RN4081. The only thin I ordered extra was a portable charger and some extra cartidges. I'll let you know how things go once we get everything. I've smoked for 26 years now and I've tried to give them up more times than I can count.

cool deal yeah use what you got for now, read up on that forum, etc. for a lot of people it is like a hobby of sorts i guess, lots of people use no nicotine at all and just vape for the flavor and something to do i guess...lol

it is kinda neat, aside from the quitting smoking part, it is interesting (it appeals to the geek in me) what all these people can do with some spare parts from radio shack..lol

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

Well today is the first day using our vapor cigarettes. I've gotta say I still crave a cigarette but I'm not as panicky as I've been before when I try to quit. These are by far the best thing I've tried. My 13 yr old said I look stupid driving and puffing on it, mine are black hubbies look like regular cigarettes, but when do I NOT look stupid to my 13 yr old? I could care less how it looks and I kinda like that mine light up blue on the ends. The important thing for me was that even in crazy traffic on 95 today the vapor cigarette was enough where I could fight my craving for the real thing.

    Re: Electronic Cigarettes - Vaping

I'm actually back on the wagon. Three days with no cigarette? That sounds about right.

But, you're right... I'm able to get one good drag off of my e-cig every couple of hours... I think it did a great job for me as a starter, and now I must move on.

How is your new toy holding up after the first few weeks? Are you still able to blow vapor rings? Can you take several drags at once, or does it lose its vapor after the first drag?

I'll definitely be replacing in the next couple of weeks, and if I can get a reliable one on the cheap, that'll give me the smiles.
