This is the market place and we encourage you to want to sell your items on the Talk Delaware forums. We just ask that you follow some basic rules so that both the seller and the buyer are protected. If you do not follow these rules we will take the necessary steps against your account.
make sure that you specify these phrases when you begin a thread
WTB = Want To Buy
WTS = Want to Sell
WTT = Want to Trade
To make sure that nothing funny is going on we ask that you follow these steps to assure that everything is on the up and up.
1. Do your research on buyer/seller
b) reputation
c) number of posts on forum
d) quality of posts of forum
e) length of time on forum
f) Who do they know on the forum (do you trust them)
2. Research the market for the proposed business/work
a) When looking at an advertised item compare pricing
b) How many other people are selling item/service
c) Are they offering the good/service "too" cheaply
3. Beware of vagueness and incredible claims
a) Ensure that the text of the good/service for sale is concise and you know exactly what you are getting for your $$$
b) If it sounds too good, it probably is (use your own judgment you clever person you)
4. Payment
a) Agree exact terms of payment before bidding/completing contract
* price
* timing of payments
* method
b) Use your credit card to make purchases. Never wire transfer - be extremely careful around direct banking transactions to pay for goods (read as don't do it)
5. Put yourself in the employer's/client's shoes
* what have they got to gain from this legitimate contract?
6. Don't come across as desperate - scammers work on the principle of catching you out
8. Make sre you know their contact details ("contact details" is not the same as email address/msn name). Get a phone number and address - why shouldn't they give it to you?
9. Use your common sense (which I know you have in abundance, but sometimes neglect to use it!)
This forum will allow auction type sales. If you have a starting bid then make sure you specify it. If theres a BIN in mind make sure you put that in there.
what is a BIN?
a bin is a set amount that you will accept. usually its the amount your most comfortable with.
IF YOU ARE NOT MAKING A OFFER OR POSTING A RELEVANT QUESTION DO NOT POST IN SELL BUY TRADE THREADS.
