Sounds like a good idea. Beaches are always nicer with sand, and not pebbles or rocks. LOL.

I can't say anything about Rehoboth but I was in OC, MD during the big storm a few months ago. About half to 75% of the beach ended up on the boardwalk or was washed out to sea.

OC, MD is my preferred beach for vacations. That's a pretty big beach, too, especially south towards the inlet....

I also visit Lewes beach 2x per year (via beach cleanup through work), and that beach was replenished recently. It looks much better now.

Storms naturally take a lot of sand back to the ocean. Beach replenishment puts it back. It's a vicious cycle, but necessary. Unless we don't want any sand on our beaches.

Haha, true. Its hard enough finding a spot even in the best of times. I'd hate to imagine what it would be like if we all had to spread our blankets on the sea wall.

I believe that most of our beach towns rely on vacationers who want to come to the sandy beach and enjoy the beach, sand, water, shops, etc... Hence why most coastal beach towns pay to have their beaches renourished every now and then. Sure, it's expensive, but without the beach, many vacationers wouldn't bother to visit.
