Moving planes from Dover due to blizzard
Storm Prompts Effort to Clear Planes From Dover
Posted: Feb 4, 2010 02:36 PM EST
DOVER, Del. (AP)- Military officials are working to clear the airplane ramp at Dover Air Force Base in advance of a winter storm approaching the mid-Atlantic region.
Dover officials are working with the airlift control center at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois to try to find missions for the entire complement of planes at Dover. Missions have been found for most of the planes, but officials say others will be parked at bases in other states if need be until the snowstorm ends.
Base spokesman Lt. Adam Gregory said officials expect to have the ramp at Dover cleared by late Friday, when the snow is expected to begin falling.
Dover is home to a cargo aircraft fleet of 18 C-5s and 13 C-17s

Re: Moving planes from Dover due to blizzard
Shit...
If I could make a suggestion....
Okay everyone...
Lets all meet up at the entrance to the base....
Bring all of the booze, and Your MP3 players loaded with all of your tunes, a couple of packs of cigarettes,
I'll bring my truck with the bangin sound system..
I'll park it somewhere mid plane,
tie it down, crank up the tunes,
and we'll head ANYWHERE but this snow forsaken state.....
