Tell me how these type of statements belong in a weather thread about climate change. Sheer idiocy because they have nothing at all to do in a climate change thread. Maybe, you ought to find a 'venting my personal inanities into space' thread for this type of tripe.
Because the jargen that you post is about what man is doing. Man is causing this, man is causing that. Man is doing this, man is doing that. So GL posted this.

Yep. It is all because of man. eradicate all of them. humans suck. if we kill them all off the face of the planet we will never ever have extreme weather again.

Which caused me to make my post.....

Hence forth, what we said is if all of human kind is dead, then all the problems go away. Although they really don't just go away, but no one would be around to know. Completely relates to Global Climate Disruption. No man on Earth=No Global Climate Disruption.

    See it yet?

@Bellicose, Off-topic and incredulously not productive.

We would need to retrofit 500,000 homes per year to offset Keystone XL's massive carbon footprint - that's about one house every minute.

That's a lot of carbon that we just can't afford.

Thinking in terms of renovated bungalows, not megatons.
andrewleach.caGreenhouse gas emissions are an abstract concept for most people. Ask a sample of Canadians what Canada’s annual GHG emissions are, and you’ll likely get a very broad range of answers (they’re about 750 million metric tons (Mt) per year).

When it comes to politics and the politicization of science, Robb and I are usually at opposite ends of the spectrum. If not opposite, then we tend to come at things from perpendicular angles. But he isn't here to push any agenda.

The fact of the matter is, you and I probably agree on climate change and particularly, the likely cause of it, far more than Robb and I ever would. The problem is, your method of advocacy turns everybody off. Even though you and I probably agree far more than we disagree, I can no more take a perpetual diatribe from the left than I can take perpetual threads started solely to slam the President.

There's no conversation in it for me. It's obvious at those times that the poster is here to do one thing- push an agenda. And all that does is get the poster labeled as a partisan hack.

That was notable weather for the day, there were no opinions expressed.

If they had a 50 foot snowfall I would have posted that as well as 220 degree temps. In fact when Russia had over 1000 drownings two summers ago due to record heat and they went in the water to cool off, I also posted that.

The thread was called Weather Discussions and a mod renamed it to Delaware Weather Discussions but the original intent of the thread was to discuss weather in general. Since I'm in PA, I mostly try to include NCC but I forget about Sussex and Kent a lot. ;-)

Then I created the Climate Change thread to keep the politics out of the weather thread. Since the earthquakes get reported with weather I then separated those out into their own thread as well. Of course if that got renamed Delaware Earthquake Discussions it would be a pretty empty thread. ;-)

somebody sent me a link to a gallery of aerial photos of VT flood damage. Route 4, shown in some of the photos, is the main east-west artery in Southern VT. Eight to nine inches of rain in six hours had rivers doing things they'd never done before. This is what the infrastructure cost of climate change looks like....

Great pix! Its horrible that we're having hurricanes in 2011. It must surely be climate change because hurricanes have never occurred prior to all this industrial age. Thanks for letting us know what caused this damage.

because things like urban planning didn't have anything to do with the flooding either.

It is all climate change. That is the only reason reasonable.

Who caused all this climate change? According to you it is us humans. Kill all the humans and this will NEVER happen again. Kill us all.

    Kill us all!!!!!!!!

    Re: Global Climate Disruption Discussions

@Robb I disagree with your belief that hurricanes have never occurred before the industrial age. That's just silly!

@GreenLantern, Your silliness about 'killing humans' is still off-point, irrelevant to climate change discussion ,and insipid .

It is evident that hurricanes are far more extreme, destructive , and frequently form more quickly closer to coastal areas due to atmospheric destabilization caused by increasing GHG emissions from humans burning fossil fuels. Hurricanes cause millions of dollars in infrastructure repair every year, built capital like repairing levees, has become more expensive to maintain then letting Nature do the job more efficiently by preserving natural wetlands networks.

If it wasn't for the hurricanes washing away the roads they would never fix the potholes! Our road/train infrastructure is woefully behind compared to other countries.

    Go Hurricanes!

not to mention all the unemployed construction workers rebuilding the roads and trains and buildings, the stores that sell the construction equipment, the painters to paint the houses, the manufacturing that goes into making the paint and nails and wood and asphalt and then there is the practice that helps make all these man made objects stronger and better and able to withstand Mother Nature. So what is going to happen if we were to suddenly get green and cure climate change and all this bad weather goes away? All these people are out of jobs and then there is no tax base and then there is not enough revenue to subsidize the green industries and then we will have to spend more and borrow more because ending any subsidy would be political suicide so no one in their right ming would even suggest ending green initiatives and so everything starts to collapse and chaos insues.

That is how they are going to kill all us humans. Kill us with our own guns that they take from us.
