The Sirloin Strip Steak & Sub Shop

Have any of you tried the Sirloin Strip Steak & Sub shop at 505 North DuPont Hwy? I drove past the place and wondered what was inside, when I got to work I found a handout for the place on a few tables and that is when I learned it was a steak & sub shop...

They have an online menu but I don't know if I am willing to throw Country Maid subs under the bus and try this place. Country Maid makes a decent sub at a fair price, but if this place makes a much better tasting sub than maybe it would be worth it to spend a few extra dollars.

Once you stop there you are going to have to let us know what you think about the place.

The handouts at my job are coupons for free french fries with purchase of steak or sub or a free fountain drink with a steak or sub purchase.

Paul, I stopped there last week and was not impressed at all. The fries were excellent, but I tried a small steak and an italian sub as well. The steak was tasteless, even with cheese onions and ketchup added. The sub was like something I could make at home. Just did not have that "sub" taste, ya know?
Keep in mind, my fave sub is from Casapulla's, so I'm comparing it to that. Great steaks and subs there, imo.

Let me know if anyone else has a different experience. Once again, the fries were crispy and appeared homemade. Steak fries with the skin on!

Well after that I will put them on the backburner. Their menu prices would lead you to think that they would have some tasty food. I don't want to pay premium prices for non-premium flavor.

One place I like even more than Capriotti's is Yatz on Union street. They charge a premium price so I don't go there often but their food is memorable.
