A Question For Parents, About Popsicles

When my kids were little I used to make popsicles rather than buy them, even when I bought them popsicles, the kids, (and all the neighborhood kids_, liked the ones I made better, lol.

Not that my kids are pretty much gone, although one WILL be back in about 5 or 6 months, I realize I made the popsicles just as much for me as I did for them. I could sustain myself all day on nothing but popsicles, lol.

My reason for this post is to find out if anyone else ever did this as well, and how you did/do this? Might find an idea I like better, lol.

First, of course, are the ice cube popsicles, especially made with soda, lol.

Second is disposable cups and plastic spoons. The cups got bigger as the kids grew up. Started with Dixie bathroom cups, ended with the big plastic party-color cups.

I would LOVE to find out or figure out how to make ICE-ees. Those popsicles in a plastic 'sleeve' that you just keep pushing up?

I know, I know about the popsicle things like these:

    or these:

When the kids were little I had some of these neat pop-freezers but lost them and haven't found them since.

    Any ideas?

We make all kinds of popsicles. The favorite? A can of coconut milk blended with pineapple and banana. We dump that same combo in our ice cream maker, too.

We use the plastic popsicle molds or we have some silicon ice cube trays in different shapes that we picked up from Ikea.

Ummm yeah, I buy mine from the store! lol Sorry Decent, I am not a Betty Crocker type at all. My best friend bakes all this stuff from scratch and to this day when I bake something and tell her she's like "Ohhhh what recipe did you use???" Me "The one on the box! Duh!!" I can ask her she most likely has a whole slew of ideas knowing her. And yeah, my kids LOVE going to her house!!

I remember them as a kid. Myparents made them for us. some similar to the firs picture you posted, some like the traditional ones you could buy, only singles, not doubles. Damn, I forgot about those treats until this thread.

    Is it March 20th yet?

Old school kool-aide but using only 1/2 the water and extra sugar. freeze them up and better than store bought.

Push up pop molds ^ Amazon used to carry these... I'd like to get them.

    I use these though...

We usually buy them from the store too (the ones with the sleeves). Funny thing...my neighbor pulled up yesterday and was unloading her car. She had 6 cases of those sleeved ones in her trunk! hahahaha! Apparently they are really really cheap somewhere (probably everywhere) right now.

Along with Auntie Terri's Iphone, little man also loves her for bringing (delivering) over our delivery of a Mickey Mouse Tupperware popsicle set. We like to fill the plastic molds with lemonade and freeze them.

that sounds like the best idea yet!

America is an idea, but it's an idea that brings with it some baggage, like power brings responsibility. It's an idea that brings with it equality, but equality even though it's the highest calling, is the hardest to reach. The idea that anything is possible, that's one of the reasons why I'm a fan of America. - Bono, Commencement University of Pennsylvania May 17, 2004

The dollar store carries the popsicle molds too. Though probably not at this time of year.
Normal is a setting on a dryer.
