Exclamation Free to good and loving home

I am losing my home and must move at the end of the month. I am desperately trying to find a loving home for a 21 month old female Black Lab / Border Collie mix. She is spayed, housebroken and crate trained. Shadow is a very active and loving dog. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and is very intelligent. She has not been exposed to children but would probably get along great with them as she loves to play. If I can't find a home for her by the end of the month she will have to return to the shelter and she deserves so much better.

Be careful about advertising dogs as "free to good home." It is well known in animal welfare circles that people who fight dogs often obtain their bait dogs through "free to good home" advertisements.

Thus endeth the Public Service Announcement.

Congratulations on the new baby. I just found out about this site this morning. I wish I had found out about it sooner because I've been so worried that I would have to take Shadow back to the shelter but thanks to this site it looks like I may have found her a new home. I'm meeting with someone on Friday and hopefully all goes well.

I'll ask all my friends if they might want to adopt a new dog. Also I pay two kids from across the street to walk my dog when I'm not around. I know they want one but their parents haven't let them get one so far. I think the parents might be starting to cave though. They have a big family so there would be a lot of people around to keep the dog occupied.

Anmlvr302, if the meeting on Friday doesn't work out post in this thread and let me know.

Re: Free to good and loving home

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts. And a special thank you to Hope. After reading all your posts it sounds like Hope's mother will be the perfect new mama for my little girl. As much as it hurts to have to let her go at least I know she's going to a good home where she will be loved and taken care of.

Naomi is correct. I do have 2 cats that need new homes. I'm not as worried about them as I can keep them a little while longer, giving me more time to find them a home.
One is a little cross-eyed cutie named Jackie who will be 3 in November. She has been spayed and micro-chipped. She is black with a sprinkling of salt. Jackie gets along with everyone, loves to play and cuddle and being cross-eyed is not a hindrance to her in any way.
The other is a 3 year old male named Lovey. He was born with a hair-lip and he's blind in the right eye. He has been neutered and micro-chipped. He's black and white. Lovey also gets along with everyone, loves to play and cuddle. He and Jackie have become good friends, always playing together, and if possible I would like to keep them together but will separate them if necessary.
