    Re: What makes you happy?

Grin, I read way more than my husband too. But he retains every little fact of the books he reads. I'm so glad we live right down the road from the Newark Library we are there at least every other week. But we still both try and collect books from the authors we like most. I always ask for books for my birthday and Christmas. All three of our kids read a fair amount too. When they were in elementary school there was a yearly challenge to read 1000 books over the school year or every 15 pages of a chapter book counted as they got into higher grades. That averaged about 4 books a day or 60 pages. My kids achieved it every year. Now they each have their own collection of books along with their favorites that I read to them as kids. I have always wanted a room like a home library and I can't wait to get all our books organized. I still can't believe all the book cases I was able to get for so little!! My dream job would be owning a little hole in the wall book store, but I'd never get anything done! lol As it is I just carry a huge purse so I can always have a book with me. Oh and FYI the room I'm taking over is the kids den/tv room.....hahahhaha

Thanks to craigs list I drove down to Magnolia today and bought 3 large book cases and 5 small ones (all for under $60!!!!!). I am finally going to have one room in my house full of book cases on every wall. For years we have had the 4 book cases we own double stacked with books. I can't wait to start arranging everything!! I am such a nerd, but I have wanted a room lined with book shelves for years!!

Terri, that is so cool! But I'm too lazy to go to all that trouble. lol However I may buy it for my best friend. She is insanely organized and I swear she never sleeps. You should have seen my kids too when I gave them each a 3 shelf book case for their rooms. They were so excited........made me soooo proud!!! I love that my kids actually request books for Christmas and birthdays. And ask to come to the library with me. I've done my part to pass on the bookworm gene............

    Re: What makes you happy?

    Ok...

On a class trip to DC with my oldest.

    I packed an awesome lunch for the both of us, only to forget to pack a much needed spoon for my Chobani. Except... Sometime in the past, I packed a spoon in the same cooler bag and never used it. This discovery has made me far happier than I should admit. ;

Spoons make me happy right now.

Well, spoons and that whole Spending The Day With My kid thing.

Wow, people here haven't been happy for a while

Just started my work softball league, and my team took down the defending champs 10-4 in the first game. Not bad, and gives us a lot of hope for this season

Having a couple brews at the bar in celebration after made me even more happy

It's Friday, it's payday and i'm working from home. It would be better if I was off today but I'll deal. Oh, and hubby not having baseball or anything until Sunday makes me happy.

Recovering my desk from under the pile of clothes and other stuff that got dumped on it. It's NOT a laundry counter, dammit!

Also, my desk chair wonderful back support.

30 minutes all to myself is making me really happy right now.

    Re: What makes you happy?

That we aren't one of the 2 million people who lost power last night. Which is a miracle. We were out for 10 hours last weekend. Our power goes out any time the wind blows heavy. We had candles lit and ready most of the night. But, the AC is still on strong. KNOCK ON WOOD.

I'm gonna venture we're all going to be down for awhile at some point. There's a huge grid out there and it needs to be serviced.

Ours flickered at about 2 this morning. That was it, thought for sure it was going to go out sooner and for longer then what happened. Thank goodness.

    Re: What makes you happy?

We lost power around midnight last night. It came back on around 7 AM. I was up cleaning by flash light until 3 AM because it was just too damn hot to sleep. But the house looked great for our first BBQ/pool party today. We have worked our asses off and I was so happy to be able to finally enjoy all the hard work with family and some friends to celebrate our sons 13th birthday and hubby's 40th. We had a fantastic day

    Re: What makes you happy?

Going to the Y with Wifey this morning, then a bike ride at Lums with my buddy and his two boys. Came home to dinner being served, ate with Wifey, then off to her parents for a little dessert and some laughs. Now I'm home to take a shower and relax with Wifey, before bed......

Glad I finally have time to do the thee things once again, life is good!

Relax with wifey? I can think of several things you can do and none of them involve relaxing
