Talk about resiliant teens. Friday he's on the ground and they are calling an ambulance. This morning he's walking out of the house carrying his golf bag. As an old man who has been through 2 marriages raising 6 stepkids and now my son I have never seen anything like him. Yes I am a proud, happy parent.

    Re: What makes you happy?

Congrats!! That is so awesome Tami! I know when I quit hubby had to go outside to smoke until he quit about 2 months ago. The smell just makes me sick now. I always swore I wouldn't be one of those smokers that quit then complained about the smell of smoke, but this time the smell just makes me feel nauseous. I really don't think I'll ever smoke again. So I don't know if that had anything to do with my hubby quitting or just the fact that he saw I was really serious this time. Whatever the motivation is I am so happy for everyone that is quitting!!! Great job guys!!!!

    Re: What makes you happy?

I'll tell you what makes me happy, as the wife and I get older I guess we get a bit more forgetful and I have come up with an innovative way to find the things we mis-place. I swear my wife must have purchased 100 combs but do you think she can find even one? "no" Soooo I decided to drill a hole in it and attach a string to it, holy crap it worked greaat! no more missing combs we even have extras. Every night we fall asleep with the TV running and the timer turns it off, and every night at about two AM the remote falls behind the bed where we cant get to it unless you belly crawl under the bed. Monday night was the last straw, so Tuesday morning when I woke up I drilled a hole in the remote control and attached a string to it and tied it to the bed.....last night at two when the remote fell behind the bed, all I could do was smile to myself and roll back over. I just hope we dont start mis-placing the dogs....This makes me smile....Click image for larger version.

I followed the ambulance up to the major intersection at 5 points were I dropped back. When I arrived at the ER about 2 minutes after the ambulance he was in a room and surrounded by doctor and staff. The CT proved negative but he is sore. I am very happy for 2 reasons obviously because my son has no permanent damage. Secondly for the speed and caring of the trainer, the emergency responders and hospital staff. Also made me feel really good when we were coming out there were quite a few parents and friends in the waiting room.
Wow LN....just saw this....glad your son is ok. It's situations just like this that made me choose swimming as my childrens' sport...pretty difficult to get hurt swimming.

I agree with the smell.....I can't stand it! Funny how we never noticed it before!

I'm not sure what made him decide to do it but I would like to think it's for the same reason your's did. I did slip up last Wed night and had one....after smoking 1/2 of it I put it out and proceeded to get sick 20 minutes later....literally made me throw up. That's when I knew I made the right choice. DH bought his last pack last Thursday night, the day after I got sick. He smoked his last one Easter Sunday. Go us!

Just placed a lunch order at work: Asian Chicken Salad from Janssen's. This salad is in my top 3 "best salads ever" list. I can't wait until it gets here! Not only is it delicious, but it's free! This makes me happy.

Driving through downtown Newark in the Spring. All the trees are in bloom and it's gorgeous. Whites, pinks, purples. West Park Place in particular and the side streets around South Campus are like something out of a postcard. Now, if it would just get a little warmer so that I can drive home with the windows down so I could *smell* everything we'd be in business.

Selling two rifles (each at a VERY nice profit) makes me happy.

And I know the new owner so I know they'll get some good use.

Hubby has been so busy lately that I feel like I barely see him. We spent some quality time together Sunday afternoon/evening. This made me happy.

My new car also makes me happy.
