Talk Delaware Press Release
Dear Reader,
In 2000, then Governor George W. Bush famously asked, “Will the highways on the internet become more few?”
Here at TalkDelaware.com we finally have the answer to that thought-provoking question, and it is an astounding “No!” In fact, on TalkDelaware.com, those proverbial internet highways are growing to the tune of over 250 topic-based threads, 6800 unique posts, and almost 40 new members every month.
Developed in early 2007 by New Castle resident Chase Speers, TalkDelaware is an organically grown local business. Recruiting a small group of tech geeks and administrative know-hows, Chase developed a small forum into a Delaware-centric online community of nearly 2,000 members and 300,000 monthly page views.
Our forums run the gamut from International News to Local Sports, and everything in between. Our online book club, recipe swaps, automotive and gardening threads help connect enthusiastic hobbyists. Our Family and Schools forum, Pets section, Ladies Only Club, and Men’s Chat, contain helpful advice and support on everything from potty training to dating. Members who don’t feel like chatting can try to achieve top score in one of our 310 Arcade games, read our Member Blogs, or browse our photo gallery.
Away from the fluorescent glow of the computer monitor, TalkDelaware members regularly organize weekend meet-ups, not to mention participation in local charitable events. Bet you didn’t know that a website could pull a plane or adopt a highway, huh?
We think that your audience would enjoy knowing that Delaware’s internet highways are constantly growing at TalkDelaware.com, and we hope you agree.
TalkDelaware’s founder and staff are available for interviews focusing on the website and its grassroots origins as well as panels for local media and internet related issues. Please contact me at your convenience at 302-218-3698 for more information.
Sincerely,
Chase S., TalkDelaware.com
