Monty Python fans?

Is anyone else here a Monty Python fan? I just got a flier from the DuPont Theatre advertising MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT (advertised as "lovingly ripped off from the film classic 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'"). Has anyone heard of this musical before? I love Monty Python but I've never heard of this...

ooooo.....and I see Many Patinkin is gonna be there in March...mmmmm....

Re: Monty Python fans?

I love love love Monty Python!!! Just got my kids into it too!!! They're awesome!!!

and my friend saw Spamalot on Broadway - she said it was HYSTERICAL!!!!!!

it's a musical rendition of MP's Quest for the Holy Grail!!! It won the Tony for Best Musical in 2005!!

I definitely wanna see it when it comes to Delaware!!

OMG OMG...I grew up on Monty Python. I didn't even know who or what Disney was as we only ever watched Monty Python. I've seen the Holy Grail hundreds of times, seriously .... we're a somewhat warped family.

(note: my first Disney movie was Aladdin in the theatre in the early 90's....was forced to see it by my friends)

I'm the only member in my family that hasn't yet seen Spamalot. My nieces and Mom have been multiple times. They love it.... a lot!

I was just up in NYC last week with my daughters school. They had arranged for us to see Mama Mia and Wicked. I was bummed because we kept walking by the Spamalot theatre. My daughter had to keep pushing me past it so I wouldn't wander in.

I am getting tickets for me, hubby and kids to see Spamalot here. Can not wait!

Ni Ni Ni

Thanks for the heads up Wendy!!!
Anyone else?

Re: Monty Python fans?

My SO saw this in Vegas with his friend.

They called me immediately after it was over.

I could hear his best friend "galloping" down the sidewalk with some coconut halves that they'd purchased.

Apparently they galloped all over the strip in Vegas that way.

So yeah.. I think they liked it.

Re: Monty Python fans?

Who's Monty Python?

Are you kidding?

I still have a crush on Michael Palin.

Eric Idle, tyvm!!!! But Michael was damned cute too!

I just wish I didn't have to wait so long...once upon a time I had the complete t.v. series, The Holy Grail, and The Life of Brian <sigh>. I don't know what happened to them but I really miss them when I get in a goofy humor mood. Something about John Cleese lying on a desk in lingerie "and now for something completely different!"
