19702-Newark-Chelsea on the Square/Four Season

This topic is to discuss and review the area of Chelsea apartments and Four Seasons of off Rt. 896 in Newark.

I have little to input here myself. I used to hang out with a guy in school that lived in the houses back there in four seasons. It seemed like a pretty decent neighborhood at the time, about 8 years ago. The apartments that directly faced 896 right behind the now shopping center seemed a little seedy IMO but the houses further back seemed nice.

If you know about the area, discuss please.

I lived in Water's Edge about.. eh, 8 years ago or so. Water's Edge was nice, people in there were great, there was a rent-a-cop that patrolled all the parking lots once it got dark and wouldn't let people linger in them or be real loud.

The apartments back there that used to be Strawberry Run/Four Season/Whatever They're Calling Themselves This Month.. not so great. I used to walk through there from Water's Edge to get to the 7-11 to buy cigarettes. Just in the short walk through that place, I'd see drunk/high people in broad daylight taking leaks off of their balconies, selling stuff in the parking lot, saw some guy drag his screaming girlfriend back into their apartment.. it's just a mess.

I don't know how bad the overflow is into the other areas. Water's Edge always had the rent-a-cops, so they just avoided it. But I don't think the other surrounding communities have constant security.

Trying to find a townhouse or at least a 3 bedroom apartment within $1,200/month.

Not so easy to do.

Only so many complexes offer 3 bedrooms in that price range, and the ones that do....not where you want to live, it seems.

Keep in mind though, I haven't been in that place in 8 years. It could have gotten better, or it might have gotten worse. I don't even know if Water's Edge still has the security guys.

PY's post was true to my impressions being around there as well, Water's Edge condo's always seemed a bit cleaner as they are sort of compartmentalized from the rest of the area there.....

Unfortunately, without selling the house in PA, we have no money to put down on a condo, townhouse, or otherwise.

That's why we gotta rent for a bit.
