Woman Hurt Stepping Out of Moving Car

Car was travelling at about ten miles-per-hour

A Smolan woman was hurt Saturday night after she stepped out of a moving car.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Lori Baxter hit her head on the ground as she was exiting a car that was travelling at about ten miles-per-hour.
The incident happened in the 4800 Block of Smolan Road at around 5:45 Saturday night. Baxter's 16-year-old daughter was driving, and a 21-year-old daughter was also in the car. She was apparently trying to prove to them that the car was not moving too quickly to exit.
Baxter was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with a head injury, and then transferred to a Wichita hospital.

As silly and stupid as this sounds there might be a logical explaination to this. Maybe whe was trying to educate her daughters on what to do in the event of an abduction.

I don't know GL, that's still a pretty stupid thing to do IMO. I mean, yes, if your life is in danger by all means try to escape. But I don't think I'd demonstrate it for my kids in a moving car. Plus the 16 year old was driving, she has got to be pretty shook up. Both girls got to see mom crack her head on the ground, not a good memory for them I'm sure.

Whatever the reason for trying to prove to them that the car was not moving too quickly to exit..
