HOW-TO POST A PICTURE

ok you have 2 options "link" OR "attach"

TO LINK:

you have to have a picture that is ONLINE.

EXAMPLE:
http://www.davidrankineart.com/KN%20rings.jpg

if you click that you see the pic is on someones webpage, but you want to show it in your post right? right!

so what you do is click the insert image icon < that thing, then paste that link ^^ into the box that pops up

EXAMPLE:

when you hit ok, you get this

walla!

TO ATTACH:

attaching lets you show a pic thats on your PC.
to attach, when making a thread OR in the "go advanced" style reply page there is a "manage attachments" button, click that

next to a box, click "browse"

find the pic on your pc and hit "open"

after it reloads and show the pic attached, hit "close window"

then when you type out your message and hit "submit reply" you pic will be attached like it is to this post below VV

DONE!

**sounds confusing but once you do it a few times you will be a pro, fo sho!**

How do I resize pictures so that I can add them to my gallery? I have a Mac, and I am technologically handicapped.

I have a big problem when trying to attach images to a post when I'm starting a new thread. I click on the "Manage attachments" button and get a message saying I'm not authorized or something to that effect.
Embedding images works jes' dandy, but not attaching images when I want to upload anything from my computer. I have to publish the post, then edit it in advanced mode to be able to upload stuff.

this one here?

on that one you paste in the popup a link to a picture online. to attach from your computer you have to "go advanced" and "manage attachments"

or just for testing try to attach using IE

does the manage attachments box even pop up on the go advanced reply screen when you click it?

Yes the box pops up. It works fine as long as I'm not trying to attach a file on the first post when I create a thread. That's when the magic doesn't happen.

Just to make sure we're clear:

I hit the "New Thread" button. Composition page opens. I type my post, then hit "Manage Attachments" and a popup window opens... saying I am not authorized yada yada.

I'll try the plugins thing but I don't see why they should interfere at all....

Yes every section, cannot attach pic when maikng new thread, can only attach to a subsequent post, or must edit original first post in advanced mode.

I think Naomi has that problem too...
