I was serious about those great horned owl calls, Wen. You can probably find mp3s of them on the web somewhere.

Skunk is a great horned owl's favorite meal. And they know it.

Every 3-4 months my neighborhood gets skunked. The smell is awful. One night I had a perfectly clear and legal shot at it with a .22 in my backyard. I was about to take the shot and then wondered if I killed it, would it let all its skunk stank loose?

Bottom line is that I let it wander off. My neighborhood hasn't been skunked since so I think I made the right decision...

Do you think he ran back and told all his friends about you? Scared them all straight?

I really doubt it. I'm not exactly Rambo. I'd like to think that skunk went back to all his skunk friends and told them all how nice I am so they agreed to stay away.

Lol, how dare you mock my situation! (But on a serious note, at least toads don't stink. Skunks on the other hand...those things are just foul!)
