Goodbye and Good Riddence BP LNG....

LNG terminal on Delaware shelved | delawareonline | The News Journal

After losing in the US Supreme Court, BP now is going to pack up their entire operation and leave....I hope New Jersey has environmental remediation laws to ensure that the property that is abandoned is not contaminated. Cheers to all of the Brandywine Hundred Legislators and Environmental Activists (and how about a shout-out to those Community Organizers) for squashing this stupid plan!

Lee and Copeland did a dog & pony show at Claymont Steel this afternoon, I haven't seen any insight on it yet though...then again, I haven't looked....

Wow. It sounds like you people didn't want this plan to happen.

It would have been on the Jersey side anyway.... LOL.

You are correct Dave, we don't want it where it was proposed and as the Supreme Court ruled, while it may have been on the Jersey side, it would still be in Delaware. We would have had less of a problem/concern with it if the proposal was south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. BP knew that from the start.

Delaware owns the river up to the low tide mark on the "Jersey side".
This was a dangerous proposal all the way around and I'm thrilled we "won".

Re: Goodbye and Good Riddence BP LNG....

Yeah, I realize DE "owns" the water up to the MLLW line on the NJ shore.

The only part of the facility in DE would have been the berth(s) and corresponding LNG line to the land.

I'm guessing most people here are afraid of LNG?
